AIDA3 “Intermediate Free Diver” License Course

This course is designed for intermediate divers and serves as a bridge to advanced levels. Participants will learn free-fall and advanced ear removal (Frenzel method) with a maximum depth of 24-32 m. The goal is to hold your breath for 3 minutes and learn rescue techniques at 60 m horizontal depth. Completed in 3-4 days, this course will deepen your self-discipline and skills, and prepare you to safely enjoy the deep sea. Ideal for those seeking a serious challenge.

AIDA 3 (Intermediate Freediving Course)

AIDA 3 is an intermediate course that further deepens freediving skills and knowledge. Students learn skills to dive to depths of up to 30 meters, as well as efficient diving techniques, safety management, and rescue techniques.

AIDA 3 Objectives
Gain a deeper understanding of the physiology and psychology of freediving
Acquire efficient fin work and diving techniques
Acquire the skills to safely dive to depths of up to 30m
Learn training methods and be able to independently improve skills
Enhance buddy safety management and rescue techniques
AIDA 3 Study Contents
1. theory (classroom lecture)
Oxygen and carbon dioxide management (hypercapnia and hypoxia)
Decompression sickness and lung squeezing (effects of pressure and how to adapt)
Diaphragm flexibility and adaptation to depth
Psychological approaches to deep diving (mental training, relaxation)
Theory of the buddy system and rescue techniques
2. breathing techniques and relaxation
Advanced breathing techniques such as abdominal breathing, complete breathing, box breathing, etc.
Improvement of breath holding (apnea) (at least 3 minutes of static apnea)
Optimization of pre-warm-up and recovery breaths
3. practical training (pool & ocean)
Practical training (pool & ocean)
Static apnea (STA): hold your breath on the surface of the water (3+ minute goal)
Dynamic Apnea (DYN): swim horizontally with fins (minimum 55m)
Dynamic apnea without fins (DNF): swim without fins (minimum 35m)
Practical ocean skills
Constant Weight (CWT): dive vertically with fins to a maximum of 30m
Free Immersion (FIM): Dive by pulling a rope by hand
Constant weight no fin (CNF): dive without fins (learn efficient movements)
Turn Technique: How to turn smoothly at the bottom of the rope
Rescue & Safety Management
Rescue of unconscious divers at depths of 10-20m
Responding to blackouts and Samba (muscle cramps due to lack of oxygen)
Buddy monitoring and emergency decision making
Requirements for AIDA 3
Completion of AIDA 2 (or equivalent level)
Minimum age 16 (depending on school)
Swimming ability requirements
Ability to swim 200m without fins or 300m with fins
Advantages after completion of AIDA 3
Be able to safely dive to a maximum depth of 30m
Able to train independently and continuously improve skills
**Possible to advance to AIDA 4 (advanced course)** or take an instructor course
Acquire rescue skills and be able to protect the safety of your buddy
